Members of Almonesson United Methodist Church are encouraged and expected to keep their vows to uphold the Church by attending Worship regularly and additionally be involved in one study/small group experience (to nurture their spiritual life), one mission or social concern ministry, (to nurture other persons) and  by the giving of their time, talents and financial gifts to the ministries of our church.


Church Membership

How To Become A Member Of  Almonesson United Methodist Church

Profession of Faith. If you are not a member of any church, you can join by professing faith in God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ his only Son, and in the Holy Spirit. New Members Classes are held periodically for those wishing to become a member.

 

Renewal of Membership Vows. If you once belonged to AUMC or another United Methodist Church and became inactive or are currently inactive, you can restore full membership by renewing your Christian vows.

 

Transfer of Membership. Members of the United Methodist Church or of another denomination may have their membership moved to Almonesson United Methodist Church. 

Preparatory Members
Children and Youth of AUMC, eighteen (18) years of age and under, who are not full members are Preparatory Members.

Confirmation  Preparatory Members ages 13-18 years old may become full members upon completion of Confirmation class and Profession of Faith in God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ his only Son, and in the Holy Spirit.

  

Constituency Members

Youth of AUMC who have reached 19 years of age and have not been received into full membership are Constituency Members.

Non-members of AUMC who attend on a regular basis are Constituency members.

 

Full membership for Constituency Members is attained by Profession of Faith and completion of New Members Class or Confirmation Class.

 
Inactive Members
A member is removed from membership rolls after two years of non-attendance. Members regularly absent with valid reason, such as illness, are not considered inactive. To reestablish full membership, inactive members must renew their vows and enroll in New Members Class.
